Spearheaded a transformative communications and network infrastructure overhaul for a 38-user Erie-based nonprofit. They struggled with an outdated phone system and 15 counselors needing to manage costly, separate work cell phones in addition to personal devices.
As Founder/President of Longnecker DataCom, my team delivered a multifaceted solution:
Network Modernization: Executed a full network room revitalization including new Cat 6 cabling for PoE readiness, installation of a locking data cabinet for enhanced security, and a new high-performance PoE switch to boost network reliability.
Unified Communications Implementation: Migrated all 38 users from their legacy system and the 15 Verizon Wireless lines to a cutting-edge Cisco UCX with Webex platform (via TPx). This provided new desk phones and empowered counselors with a single-app experience on their personal smartphones for work calls/texts, eliminating redundant devices.
Dedicated Training & Post-Cutover Support: Ensured a seamless transition with comprehensive staff training and dedicated on-site support for system management, feature adoption, and ongoing customization based on their operational needs.
Key Outcomes: This comprehensive modernization yielded significant reductions in monthly operational costs, vastly improved communication efficiency and collaboration for all users, and substantially enhanced network security and reliability. Crucially, it empowered the nonprofit to dedicate more resources to their vital community mission, supported by a scalable and future-proof technology foundation.
